Application development for new cosmetic ingredients

New and existing ingredients are incorporated in creative product ideas to illustrate the use of the materials in cosmetic applications. This is an increasingly important requirement, as ingredient suppliers have to prove the benefits of their specialities.

Rheological studies using Brookfield DVII+ with Wingather software Rheology is an important parameter in cosmetic product applications. Yield values may be used to determine the ability of a composition to suspend physical particles such as the scrub particles in a facial exfoliant or glitter in a foam bath. Rheology is used to develop improved sun care products and can more than double the predicted SPF results. It can also be used to set meaningful specifications and to spot changes in product stability long before there are visible signs of separation.
